Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool.

Recent speculation in England has purported to Kenny Dalglish's alleged interest in the towering Italian international amid reports Liverpool were lining up a move for the player next month.

Jamie Carragher has struggled to dislodge Dalglish's first choice defensive pairing of Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger this season and while Liverpool seem well saturated with centre-halves, Chiellini was rumoured to have caught the eye of the Anfield director of football Damien Comolli.

Liverpool are the latest name to be associated with the Juventus star who has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League over the last 18-months. The 27-year-old has previously been coveted by both Manchester clubs and Chelsea, yet Chiellini intimates he has no intention of leaving Turin.

"When I read these things (reports of Liverpool's interest), it really is laughable," Chiellini wrote on his Twitter account.

"They really don't know what to write."

The rumoured Liverpool target has been a mainstay of Juventus' impressive rise to the summit of the Serie A table this season and also remains a key figure in the Italian national side. To date he has won 49 caps for the Azzuri.
