Kid Rock announced on X and Instagram on 14 October that Lil Wayne had replaced Eminem on '7 Sins', two days after insisting political differences had never divided their friendship.

The announcement followed online criticism of the collaboration over the rappers' opposing political views.

Eminem will still appear on Kid Rock's forthcoming album, Halfway 2 Jesus, on a different song, 'Heal My Faith', according to the update.

Kid Rock Revises Album Collaborations

In a video posted on 14 October, Kid Rock outlined the revised guest appearances while addressing the backlash surrounding the record.

Eminem had previously been announced as a featured artist on '7 Sins', drawing criticism from some social media users.

The album is scheduled for release on 17 October 2026, XXL Magazine reported. The news of the revised collaboration came as Kid Rock promoted the project and defended the involvement of people with different political beliefs.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has openly endorsed Donald Trump. Eminem previously backed the Democratic Party, Fortune reported. Some social media users criticised Eminem for collaborating with an artist whose political loyalties differ from his own.

Politics Across Kid Rock's Recording Sessions

Addressing the response, Kid Rock emphasised that political differences extended beyond the two rappers. He described musicians, songwriters, engineers and other contributors with different backgrounds and beliefs working together on the album.

'Thinking differently and having the freedom to do so is what makes this country great. As God is my witness, not only the special guest, the musicians, the songwriters, the engineers, everybody involved with this record, we all don't think the same. Plenty of us think differently, all different backgrounds, everything, different politics. We're able to come together and make this beautiful body of work that I'm so proud of,' he stated.

Kid Rock framed the record as the result of contributors finding common ground through music despite their disagreements. He also indicated that he would continue promoting Halfway 2 Jesus, describing its message as 'bigger' than himself.

The Friendship Behind Kid Rock's Collaboration

The update followed Kid Rock's appearance on Fox News' My View with Lara Trump on 12 October 2026. During the interview, host Lara Trump questioned him about working with Eminem and what he hoped the collaboration would achieve.

Kid Rock described Eminem as a 'tremendous friend' for nearly 40 years and a 'great father'. He also called him a 'class act all the way' and expressed gratitude for his contribution to the record.

He explained that the pair had agreed years earlier to protect their friendship from political disagreements. In his account, Eminem understood how much he valued the project and the example their collaboration might offer people beyond the music industry.

'We said years ago, 'Man, let's not let politics divide us.' And we never did, and so when I asked him to be part of this, and the stuff that he's writing... He totally got it. He knew how important it was for two little foul-mouthed white rappers from Detroit maybe could set a good example for the rest of this country that 'Hey, it's okay... to differ politically and still be friends,'' Kid Rock stated.

Eminem had not publicly addressed the online scrutiny surrounding his appearance on Halfway 2 Jesus at the time of reporting.
