50 Cent Reveals Eminem 'Put a Couple of Pieces Together' Before Stepping Back to Work on New Album
The proposed track was also linked to Tupac Shakur, but its final line-up and release remain unconfirmed

50 Cent says Eminem pulled back from a planned 'Street Fighter' soundtrack song so he could focus on his next album, after already putting 'a couple of pieces together' for the track. His comments have fuelled fresh speculation about new music from Eminem, although no release date has been confirmed.
Speaking to The Associated Press on the red carpet at the film's Los Angeles premiere on Monday, 12 October, 50 Cent explained why his longtime collaborator had stepped away from the project.
'Em, he put a couple of pieces together for it and decided because he got closer to his album, he kinda fell back on that because he's preparing his presentation for the next album,' 50 Cent said.
His remarks offer an update on a collaboration that he had been promoting since late 2025. However, they do not establish whether Eminem's contribution will appear on the final soundtrack.
According to an Instagram post published on 13 December 2025, 50 Cent had promised to involve Eminem in making music for the film. The announcement raised expectations of a new collaboration between the longtime friends.
In July 2026, 50 Cent went further during an appearance on NBC's 'Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.' He said he had worked on a 'Street Fighter' theme featuring Eminem and the late Tupac Shakur.
'I got some music that I'm working on. I did something currently, me, Eminem and 2Pac,' he said on the programme. 'It's for the theme of Street Fighter, the movie.'
The Associated Press reported on 13 October that Eminem had stepped back from the planned collaboration. Its video report also described the proposed song as drawing on Tupac's 'Ambitionz az a Ridah.'
Why 50 Cent's Street Fighter Track Drew Attention
The Tupac element added another layer to the planned track. The rapper was killed in September 1996, making the use of archival recordings central to questions about how the proposed collaboration was assembled.
In his July interview, 50 Cent said the recording did not use AI-generated vocals. He said the material had been supplied through Tupac's estate and claimed that the late rapper's family and estate approved the result.
Those statements should be understood as 50 Cent's account. Independent confirmation of the recording's provenance, permissions and final use has not been established in the material reviewed for this article.
The latest comments also leave the song's future unclear. 50 Cent did not confirm whether Eminem's contribution would be retained, replaced or omitted from the soundtrack. He did not clarify whether the Tupac material would still feature.
Neither the final track listing nor a confirmed soundtrack release date has been established here. Until an official announcement provides further details, the planned collaboration's final form remains uncertain.
The film itself is scheduled to open in cinemas on 16 October 2026, according to the official 'Street Fighter' website. 50 Cent plays Balrog, the boxer from the video game franchise.
The cast also includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters and Orville Peck as Vega. The film adapts Capcom's long-running fighting game series for the big screen.
50 Cent's Update Sparks Eminem Album Talk
For many fans, the most significant part of 50 Cent's remarks concerned Eminem's next album. The rapper's reference to preparing for the project has fuelled speculation, but it is not an official release announcement.
Eminem has not confirmed a release date in the comments discussed here. Nor did 50 Cent disclose an album title, track list or schedule. His remarks indicate what he understands about his friend's priorities, rather than providing a formal announcement from Eminem or his representatives.
The timing has added interest to the discussion. Eminem recently appeared on 'MADARA,' a single with Filipino-American rapper Ez Mil that was released on 8 October 2026.
Their professional relationship stretches back more than two decades. Eminem and Dr Dre were among the executive producers of 50 Cent's 2003 debut album, 'Get Rich or Die Tryin,' which helped establish him as a major name in hip-hop.
50 Cent, Eminem and Snoop Dogg also appeared on 'Gunz N Smoke,' from Snoop Dogg's 2024 album 'Missionary,' produced by Dr Dre. Their history of collaborations helps explain why the possibility of another joint recording has attracted attention.
Nevertheless, the latest update leaves two questions unanswered: whether Eminem will appear on the 'Street Fighter' soundtrack and when his next album might arrive.
For now, 50 Cent has explained why the planned collaboration changed direction. Fans will have to wait for official announcements to learn whether the material will eventually be released.
