'Virtually Speechless': Congress May Hear Testimony About a UFO 'Mothership' Releasing 'Orange Orbs'

Congressman Eric Burlison has suggested US intelligence witnesses could testify about an alleged giant UFO 'mothership' releasing swarms of orange orbs near a secret US West Coast military base in late 2025, the New York Post reports.

The incident was described in an FBI report released by the Trump administration in May, according to BroBible. A senior US intelligence officer reported lights beside a helicopter and fighter jets being pursued, stating, 'We were virtually speechless after these observations.'

UFO Witnesses Face Disclosure Questions

Congressman Eric Burlison told the newspaper that one potential witness is a career bureaucrat from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. He raised concerns that public appearances by agency personnel could reveal other information.

'There's some people that are working for the agency that having them come forward publicly may expose other things,' he stated. 'And so that's a good place to explore and I'm happy to look into that to see if that's a possibility.'

Some witnesses have already met privately with members of Congress, Burlison reported. However, they have yet to provide all the video evidence of the encounter. His comments concerned the possibility of public testimony, without announcing a hearing date in the newspaper's published account.

Inside the Reported UFO Encounter

The encounter is dated only to late 2025 in the reporting, which does not name the military base or identify the senior intelligence officer.

In the FBI account, the officer reported seeing 'two large orbs flare up' next to the helicopter during a mission. The lights were described as 'orange with a white or yellow center, and emitted light in all directions.'

Alongside the larger objects, 'countless' smaller ones reportedly swarmed in all directions. One smaller orb, described as 'oval-shaped' and coloured orange, white and yellow, reportedly broke into two.

Fighter jets were deployed in an attempt to identify the objects, the report states. That effort was unsuccessful, and the same orbs subsequently began 'chasing' the fighters.

Burlison's Previous Remarks About UFO Footage

The congressman had previously discussed classified UFO footage in April. Speaking on his podcast, he described videos whose contents he and the people who filmed them could not identify.

'I have seen videos of objects. I can't tell you exactly what they are,' Burlison stated. 'I say that because I'm saying I saw it, and I can't tell what they are, and neither could the people that filmed them. It's something that's wild like, you know, defies logic, the way in which they operate.'

'What you're often seeing is these glowing type orbs. They look like balls of plasma that seem to be stationary, and then sometimes they'll just move at incredible speeds,' he added. 'I don't know what that is, and I don't think that our intelligence community knows what these things are.'

In 2025, he also presented footage during a congressional hearing on UFO transparency and whistleblower protection. BroBible describes an MQ-9 Reaper drone tracking an orb-shaped object while a second MQ-9 launched a Hellfire missile at it.

The object appeared possibly damaged after the strike but continued flying, according to that account.
