Real Madrid may have broken the world transfer record to sign Gareth Bale this summer but it seems they are prepared to make another huge offer in January, with Liverpool striker Luis Suarez topping their wishlist.

The Spanish giants were said to be keen on recruiting the controversial Uruguayan earlier this summer but instead decided to concentrate on completing a deal for Bale.

Despite landing the former Tottenham Hotspur forward, it seems Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti wants guarantees that he can sign another striker in January if he feels they need the extra firepower, or if Karim Benzema is struggling for goals.

Spanish newspaper Marca reports that Madrid president Florentino Perez is willing to sanction a deal for Suarez in January as he wants a 'galatico' centre forward to complete his already impressive squad.

Suarez was believed to have held talks with Madrid officials over the summer when he informed Liverpool that he wanted to leave the club in order to play in the Champions League.

Liverpool refused to sell but may decide to listen to offers in January if they receive a more substantial offer than the £40m they rejected from Arsenal in the summer.

Marca believe that Madrid have around £42.5m to spend, which comes from the sale of Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.

However, it seems Suarez is not the only option as Monaco striker Radamel Falcao remains a target despite only leaving the Spanish capital for the French principality in June of this year.

With neither Liverpool nor Monaco competing in the Champions League this season Madrid would be able to add Falcao or Suarez to their European squads, further enhancing their chance of winning the competition.

Both sides will hope that they are challenging at the top of their respective tables come January as they will be fully aware of the pulling power that Madrid have when it comes to luring players to the Bernebeu.
