Danny Welbeck wants to get Manchester United back to their winning ways.

Danny Welbeck has insisted that Manchester United will bounce back from their difficult period with the side hoping to start with a win against Aston Villa this weekend.

United are currently ninth in the table and in the lead-up to a busy Christmas period this is not the position David Moyes was hoping for as he settles into the dugout at Old Trafford.

The side have lost their last two league matches and with Robin van Persie ruled out for a month with injury the Red Devils are struggling for a top four place.

But Welbeck insists the team have re-grouped and are taking full responsibility for the disappointing results, while David Moyes remains under pressure in the media as he takes on one of the toughest jobs in world football.

"It was unheard of for us to lose two games consecutively at Old Trafford," Welbeck told the United website. "We needed to take a good look at ourselves to then put things right.

"Everyone should take responsibility, it's not just down to one person, it is down to the whole team. We know within ourselves we can't dwell on things too long and make sure we're ready to win three points from the next game.

"This season's been quite unpredictable in the Premier League, but you cannot go into a match just thinking 'we're going to win this or win that', you have to be mentally prepared and physically conditioned."

United had a particularly tough start to the season but over the Christmas period, with the side having easily qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, they will be expecting to take maximum points from the Aston Villa, Stoke City, West Ham, Hull City and Norwich City.

The side under Sir Alex Ferguson was known for picking up necessary points where other title challengers would fall into a lull of poor form and if Moyes can recover from this disastrous start to the season to seal a top-four spot at the beginning of the year he will go a long way to proving himself to the United faithful.
