Uber Eats Driver Returns for Woman's Number and Gets Shot in Buttocks by Her Boyfriend After Delivery
Khuslen Saruultuya is accused of shooting and assaulting the delivery worker before police arrested him on attempted murder and drug trafficking charges

A late-night food delivery in Miami-Dade turned violent after an Uber Eats driver returned an hour after the delivery to seek the customer's phone number, culminating in a shooting, a physical assault, and a trafficking arrest.
According to a report from Local 10 News, 33-year-old Khuslen Saruultuya faces an attempted murder charge following an early morning dispute outside the Pearl Dadeland Apartments on North Kendall Drive on 12 October.
Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 3:30 a.m. before learning the victim had arrived at Baptist Health South Miami Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Delivery Encounter Leads To Early-Morning Ambush
Police reports indicate that the victim had delivered food to a female resident about an hour before the shooting occurred. After engaging in a brief conversation, the driver returned to the complex at approximately 3:25 a.m. in an effort to obtain her phone number.
When the driver returned to his vehicle after an unsuccessful attempt, Saruultuya pulled up in a Chevrolet Corvette, drew a handgun, and ordered the delivery worker to lie flat on the ground.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim complied with the demand. Saruultuya then fired a single shot that grazed the driver's right buttock before striking him on the back of the head with the buttstock of the firearm, inflicting a two-inch open wound.
Saruultuya then ordered the victim to stand and pointed the weapon at his head, threatening to kill him while his girlfriend pleaded for him to stop. Authorities tracked the Corvette's licence plate to a nearby apartment complex, where deputies arrested Saruultuya and seized a massive amount of suspected narcotics, including cocaine, ketamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and prescription pills.
Uber Eats Faces Online Backlash
Following the incident, details of the shooting went viral on Instagram after being posted by the local news commentary outlet OnlyInDade, prompting a public response.
The viral post generated hundreds of reactions, with social media users expressing scepticism over the driver's decisions while acknowledging the severity of the response.
User collectabuzz commented that while they did not condone the shooting, returning an hour later to find a customer was strange.
User jahomsi1989 similarly questioned the delivery worker's behaviour, asking how returning to a customer's home late at night could be considered acceptable conduct.
Other commentators emphasised personal safety concerns, with user ronnie3o5 noting that returning at 3:00 a.m. appeared suspicious, while user its_jess87_ added that having a delivery driver return to a residence hours later is a terrifying prospect.
Multiple Felony Charges and Ongoing Investigation
Saruultuya appeared in Miami-Dade bond court and faces an attempted felony murder charge, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and nine felony drug trafficking charges. He remains held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
In a public statement, an Uber spokesperson described the reported allegations as concerning and confirmed that the company is continuing to investigate the incident.
