Riders' Championship review

Valentino Rossi (179) has increased the gap with Jorge Lorenzo (166) to 13 points following a podium place at the previous race in Germany, but with eight races to go, the battle is set to go down to the wire between the two Yamaha riders.

Marc Marquez (114) came back to winning ways in the previous race, but the reigning world champion is 65 points behind the leader, and will have to pull off a miracle to win the title again this year.

The Ducati's who enjoyed a great start to the season, are struggling to maintain the pace with the two factory teams, but Andrea Iannone (118) is ahead of Marquez in third with some consistent performances in the last four races.
