Nick Reiner Reportedly Harboured Intense Anger, Hatred for Family Especially Dad Rob, Source Claims

Nick Reiner has been battling with his addiction all his life. When his dad, Rob Reiner, was still alive, he and Nick spoke candidly about his struggles and admitted that things had not always been easy between them. In one interview, Rob seemingly blamed himself for what happened to his youngest son, expressing regret over his decision to follow doctors' orders on how to tend to Nick. He said that because his son's doctors obtained a degree, he decided to listen to them, but throughout the process, he forgot to hear Nick out and focus on the kind of help that his son truly needed.

Last year, news of Rob and Michele Reiner's untimely passing shocked the nation. Worse, reports that it was their son Nick who killed them rocked the entire world. Now, Nick's former roommate in rehab, Danny Svilar, has shared details on the real relationship the father and son had with each other.

Hatred and Resentment

In an interview, Svilar revealed that he first met Nick when they were still teenagers seeking treatment for their addiction at a facility. As roommates, the two often exchanged stories about themselves and their families. Svilar said that Nick used to speak so negatively about his family, especially his dad. He harboured resentment for all of them and seemingly had so much hatred for Rob. So, when Svilar heard the news about Rob and Michele's deaths, he immediately knew who could have been behind it.

Love and Support

Even though Nick made several negative remarks about his parents during his stint in rehab, Svilar said that he never once saw or heard the same thing from Rob and Michele. In fact, the late couple had always been loving and supportive of Nick and his recovery. 'They showed up for everything. They were trying to help him. They wanted him well', he said. Sadly, Rob and Michele are no longer around to look out for their son, Nick, and their other two children, Jake and Romy. However, according to reports, the siblings have the support of their dad's close friend, Billy Crystal.

Crystal was reportedly one of the first people that Romy called after discovering her parents' bodies in their home in Brentwood, California, on 14 December. Crystal and his wife, Janice, immediately rushed to the property to support the family.

Siblings' Unwavering Bond

Other than Crystal, Jake and Romy have relied on each other during this difficult time. Nannon Williams, an inmate who became friends with Nick, detailed the siblings' family dynamic after the couple's passing. He said that Jake and Romy reached out to their brother, Nick, while he was in custody because they do not hate him.

Williams added that Rob and Michele raised their children very well, so they wouldn't have wanted them to have a strained relationship. When Rob was still alive, he reportedly planted seeds of compassion in his children. Despite what happened, he wouldn't have wanted Nick to be in jail and would have wanted him to continue getting treatment.
