Nintendo has released a video celebrating 30 years of Super Mario Bros. First released in Japan in 1985 as part of Nintendo's Family Computer, the game features two plumbers, Mario and Luigi, on a quest to save a princess in captivity. San Francisco-based Imagine Games Network called it "the greatest game of all time" in 2005.

Fans from all over the world paid tribute to the game characters in a video uploaded to Nintendo's website on 9 September. Over the years there have been 30 different series of the game with Nintendo releasing a new version of the game on 11 September to celebrate three decades of history.
