Tom Daley's wedding plans suffered a setback after the Olympic diver had to undergo minor hip surgery on 4 May.

The British bronze medallist is expected to marry fiancé, and Hollywood screenwriter, Dustin Lance Black on 6 May and fans are hopeful that he makes a quick recovery.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Back on the board soon," Daley posted on Instagram alongside a photo of him in the hospital.

Six months ago, the couple faced a lot of media attention after it surfaced that the 22-year-old had cheated on the Hollywood film producer by engaging in online sex sessions. Footage of him undressing for the online interactions was also made public.

Daley confessed to engaging in sexual relations with other men, including 27-year-old model Edward Williams. The couple decided to stay together and make things work.

"Tom and Lance are determined to go ahead with the wedding," a source told The Sun. "It'll be a lovely occasion and they are very excited, but some friends think they might be better taking things slowly after everything they've been through."

"It's been a tough six months for them. They had a bit of a break and have just started to rebuild their relationship. Marriage might put extra pressure on them," the source added.

Black and Daley were first introduced to each other in 2013 and started dating a while later. They got engaged in 2015.

"We just complement each other, and I think we really understand each other," Daley said of his fiance, earlier this year. "He's very good at what he does and he understands the hard work I have to put into what I do, so it works."
