A video showing off Blizzard's new Overwatch Insurrection update has leaked ahead of the event's release Blizzard Entertainment

Blizzard's hit shooter Overwatch is getting a new co-op game mode as part of a new event starting later today (11 April). According to a leaked trailer, the event will be called Overwatch Insurrection, however, some fans note that the event might just be called "Uprising" in English-speaking countries.

Eager Overwatch fans have been picking apart the trailer for clues regarding the new update. The trailer reveals what seems to be a new four-player, horde-style PvE (Player vs Everything) mode fsimilar to last October's Halloween event.

Set seven years ago in Overwatch lore, the new mode stars Tracer, Reinhardt, Mercy and Torbjörn, who will battle a hoard of various robotic enemies during the Omnic uprising.

Set in London, the video shows Tracer and the team making their way through the war torn streets of the game's King's Row map while taking on swarms of Omnic foes.

The video also shows a variety of new kins for McCree, Genji, Widowmaker, Mercy, Torbjorn, Bastion and Orisa. The limited-time event will also bring over 100 unlockable items including new emotes, sprays, tags and poses.

Some of the sprays seemingly include a wedding photo of Widowmaker, aka Amelie Lacroix, and her husband Gerard Lacroix, younger versions of heroes including D. Va and another of Reinhardt with long, blonde hair.

Blizzard has yet to release the official details on the new event, game mode and unlockable items.

The trailer's description, as translated from French, read: "Rally your friends and accompany Tracer in [her] first mission during the King's Row insurrection, our new co-operative [mode and] discover the origins of some of your favourite heroes with more than 100 new items for Overwatch Insurrection including skins, intro screens, emotes, tags, etc.! Overwatch archives have been declassified, but this will only last until 1 May."

Blizzard previously teased the release of its new event with a brief, mysterious Overwatch Mission Archives video for the "King's Row Uprising" mission that would be "declassified" on 11 April.

The developer also released a new digital comic featuring some new details on the Omnic Uprising and showed off some of the new Overwatch skins. The character skins from the new event leaked via Xbox Live over the weekend.

Overwatch is available now for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
