There was a 'miracle' escape for bystanders caught up in morning drama when scaffolding collapsed on to a bus in Peckham, south London, on 2 March, 2015.

The rickety metal and wood structure came loose from its holdings in Peckham Road. Luckily for pedestrians its fall on to the street was prevented by a red 345 bus, which happened to be alongside the scaffolding at the time.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, which London Fire Brigade called a "miracle" in a tweet posted from the scene.

A fire spokesman said: "We were called at 11.15 to reports of scaffolding which had fallen on to a bus and a wall collapse in Peckham Road. A section of scaffolding had collapsed on to a bus and street furniture."
