Presley Gerber's Final Days and Rehab Facility Expansion Spotlighted by Neighbours

The facility where Presley Gerber died was intended to support people struggling with addiction, but comments from local residents have drawn attention to concerns surrounding the property.

Resolutions Living, the treatment facility where Gerber was staying, is located in an affluent Santa Monica neighbourhood and promotes itself as a recovery destination.

In the days after the model died, however, residents in the area spoke about their experiences with the facility, including emergency call-outs and concerns about its expansion.

Ambulances a Common Sight Around Facility Where Gerber Died

In the wake of Gerber's death, Resolutions Living has received increased attention because of the circumstances surrounding the late model. While the facility has been marketed as a recovery destination in the 'prestigious northern section' of the city, neighbours told the Daily Mail that emergency vehicles have become a common sight.

A resident who lived close by recalled seeing first responders arrive on Sunday morning after someone from the property dialled 911.

'I saw the ambulance Sunday morning. It's really sad, but it's not the first time there have been ambulances here,' the resident told the Daily Mail.

The resident said the tragedy was heartbreaking but suggested that such incidents were to be expected given the nature of the facility.

'It's a rehab facility, what do you expect?' the neighbour said, before adding, 'No one wanted a rehab, halfway-house on our block, but there was really nothing we could do about it.'

These comments surfaced as police investigated Gerber's death as a suspected overdose. Authorities have not confirmed the cause of death, which remains pending further testing.

Neighbours Worried About Rehab Facility's Impact Following Gerber's Death

Some residents also spoke about concerns regarding Resolutions Living that were separate from the immediate tragedy of Gerber's death.

According to the neighbour, the property's owner expanded operations after purchasing a home adjacent to the facility.

'The guy who bought the property got it at a good price and then when the house next door went up for sale, he grabbed that one too. So now it's two big houses next to each other. These are really nice houses,' they said.

'I think he has at least seven beds in each house, if not more,' the neighbour alleged, adding, 'He built a pickleball court in the second house, so now we hear the pickleball noise pretty much round the clock.'

Dr Reza Nabavi is the owner of Resolutions Living and also serves as its clinical director. While the facility presents itself as a high-end treatment environment, the neighbour said there was concern among surrounding residents about further expansion.

'When the third house went on sale, I thought, oh no, this same guy is going to expand the rehab, and soon the whole block will be a rehab centre.'

The Daily Mail reported that it contacted Nabavi and representatives for Resolutions Living for comment.

What Gerber was doing in the months before his death has received renewed attention following his death. The model had previously spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and mental health.

He reportedly opened up about a difficult decision he made in March to undergo ibogaine treatment. In a personal post, Gerber revealed that he was preparing for an ibogaine 'flood dose', a psychedelic treatment that has been explored for addiction recovery.

'Quiet moment before everything changed,' Gerber wrote. 'I was absolutely terrified, and I knew I would be again if I ever had to face something like this.'

'I knew why I was there. I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, I started finding my way back to myself.'

Gerber also said he hoped he would never have to return for the treatment, 'praying it's the last time I have to come back.'

His earlier comments have drawn renewed attention following his death, but they do not establish the cause or circumstances of his death.
