Priyanka Chopra as officer Alex Parrish from the crime thriller Quantico will soon return to TV this September. According to reports, production has finally begun for season 2 of the ABC show, which picks up after the events of the last season.

Chopra, who plays the lead character in the FBI-oriented TV series, took to her Instagram account on Wednesday to post a photo from the set of Quantico.

Sharing a candid image of hers from the set of the ABC series, the 33-year-old actress wrote, "Day 1 on set for#Quan2co ! Ready for Tom!! Gn world.. #AlexParrish on her way to ur tv screens in September. C u soon. Zzzzz #NYC#CatchMeIfyouCan #quanticoS2"

The Bollywood star is dressed in smart formal attire in the picture, which goes well with her character, who was previously an FBI trainee in the show.

After a season full of tension and conflict over a terrorist — who ultimately turned out to be Liam O'Connor —Chopra's character Alex seems to be ready to take on her new role in the CIA.

A report by The Hollywood Reporter stated that Blair Underwood has been added to the cast of Quantico for season 2. He will reportedly play "the intelligent and inspirational CIA officer" Owen Hall, who may take Alex under his wings, if she ultimately joins the CIA.

"Blair Underwood is the kind of actor you dream of writing for. Be it romantic comedy, dark drama, or high-octane thriller — there is nothing he can't do. We look forward to creating a role that will showcase his huge range and boundless charisma," showrunner Joshua Safran was reported as saying.

A different set of challenges and threats await the FBI-graduate in season 2 of Quantico that is set to return on ABC on Sunday, 25 September.
