Just days after Rihanna stunned fans by turning up to the CFDA Awards in a see-though dress that showed of her breasts, Kendall Jenner decided up the ante by going knickerless on the red carpet.

The reality star, who is Kim Kardashian's half-sister, left little to the imagination when she arrived at the 2014 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto in a floor-length dress that was slashed to her waist.

The daring gown, designed by Fausto Puglisi, featured elaborate embellishment all over and showed off her pelvic bones. She completed the look with nude make-up and her hair styled in a straight centre parting.

Jenner narrowly dodged a wardrobe malfunction as she posed for photos with her more-conservatively dressed sister Kylie and chatted with fans.

Ahead of the awards, the 18-year-old model explained the daring choice to fans by tweeting: "Why do one split when you can do TWO!?"

But it was not enough to protect her from backlash once her look was finally unveiled, with some fans accusing her of attention-seeking.

"Why are the splits in Kendall's dress so high they're making me feel uncomfortable," one wrote.

Momager Kris Jenner took to Twitter to give her daughter's raunchy look her seal of approval.

"You are stunning @kendalljenner and @kyliejenner!! Just beautiful! #MMVA's," she captioned a snap of her daughters.

Jenner and her 16-year-old sibling ended up changing their outfits three times during the night as they took on their hosting duties at the ceremony.

And Kendall's disastrous effort at presenting the Billboard Awards - when she came on stage to introduce a band, misread the teleprompter and accidentally called them One Direction - was soon forgetten at this event. She even received a compliment from Arrow star Colton Haynes when she introduced him to the stage.

"You guys are killing it as hosts," he said.
