Xperia users have already experienced the goodies from the new Xperia Z3, thanks to the developer community which shared the features via the system dump of the handset.

The new keyboard from Sony Xperia Z3 with emojis is now available for Android devices running Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) or higher. This is a port which has been released by senior XDA member Vipuldj. The port has been successfully tested on a number of Android devices including Nexus 5, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.

  • Lava Iris 405 with 4.1.2 JB and 4.2.2 JB
  • Micromax A110 with 4.1.x and 4.2.2 JB
  • GiONEE P3 with 4.2.2 JB

  • LG G2
  • Note 2
  • Xiaomi NOTE
  • Galaxy S4 with Stock TouchWiz ROM

Pre-requisites

  • The Android device should be rooted
  • It should be running a Deodexed/Odexed ROM (Deodexed is recommended)
  • The smartphone should have recovery such as CWM, TWRP or, PhilZ Touch
  • The Android devices must have free 20 MB of free system memory
  • The handset will be running ROM based on ICS, Jelly bean 4.1.2, 4.2.2, 4.3.x and KitKat 4.4.2 like AOSP, CM10.2, CM11, PA, AOKP, MIUI, and Liquid smooth.

How to install Xperia Z3 keyboard

  • Copy the downloaded file to the internal/external SD card of your device
  • Reboot the phone into recovery mode
  • Perform Wipe cache and dalvik cache
  • Install the keyboard
  • Perform Wipe cache and dalvik cache
  • Reboot the phone

When the device reboots successfully, it should have the Xperia Z3 keyboard.

Note: After installing the keyboard, navigate to Settings>> Language & Input, from there select Default Keyboard to Xperia.

If the keyboard force closes, then go to Settings>> Apps and clear data of Xperia keyboard.
