Police searching for a missing elderly couple have found a body in woodland close to their home in Weybread, Suffolk. Peter and Sylvia Stuart were reported missing on 3 June by a concerned woman who had not seen them since 28 May.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson has confirmed that a body was found at 7.15pm on 3 June and that the death is being treated as suspicious. Although the body has not been formally identified, the couple's next of kin have been informed.

Deputy Chief Superintendent Simon Parkes said: "We will be working to gather evidence at the scene and through further enquiries. We would ask anyone who may have been in the area over the past seven days to get in touch with us immediately, as you may have information that can help."

The disappearance of Peter, 75, and Sylvia, 69, has been described as out of character. Police have launched a murder inquiry into the incident.
