Supernatural season 12 premiere title revealed: How will Sam and Dean deal with Mary Winchester's return?

Supernatural season 12 will return on 13 October on The CW network, with a lot of complications for Sam and Dean Winchester. Season 11 ended with Sam getting shot at by a mysterious woman, as Dean found his back-from-the-dead mother, Mary Winchester in the woods.

According to a report in TV Line, the season 12 premiere episode is penned by Andrew Dabb and is titled, Keep Calm And Carry On. Actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles who plays Sam and Dean teased what is in store for their characters in season 12.

While appearing at the Saturn Awards, Padalecki confirmed that Sam was shot, and said, "She shot him, I don't know where, but I know she shot him," and joked, "What else is new – Sam gets injured. At least I'm not getting tortured – yet."

Season 12 ended with Amara thanking Dean by giving him what he's always wanted, Mary Winchester – who was killed by Yellow Demon when he was a child. Jensen Ackles teased, "I'm anxious to see how that [surprise return] pans out, [My reaction] was kind of like, 'What's going to happen now? How is this going to work out?'"

Padalecki was stoked by the finale twist and said, "I love [Mary's portrayer] Samantha Smith. So I was like, 'We get Sam back! That's awesome!' My reaction as a fan of the show was, 'What a cool show to be a part of where we can do that and get away with it.' [That] and I was just really stoked."

Speaking about a family reunion in season 12, Jared shared how Sam and Dean will deal with Mother Winchester's return. According to him, Dean will be much more affected by this, and shared, "Not as much as Dean does, because Sam was so young [when she died]."

Sam "would like to get some answers" about his mother, about whom he only "knows a little bit," thanks to time travels back in season 5. "I think a part of Sam is very curious. He's a thinker, he's an intellect. Part of him wants to have some sort of closure with his father, with his mother."

The 33-year-old actor added, "Sam is one of these interesting people who feels the void, even if he didn't ever know it. They say, 'If you don't know something, you don't know what you're going to miss.' But I think Sam knows what he's missing."
