Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Take Drastic Security Step at $5.35M Ohio Mansion After Neighbour Gets Warning

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have tightened security around their new Ohio home after a neighbour reportedly received a warning for getting too close to the property.

The couple bought their lakefront estate in Bratenahl earlier this year, and Page Six has reported that a voice warning alarm has since been installed around the property. A nearby neighbour told the outlet that someone who approached the house was warned not to pass onto the property after getting too close to the home.

Security Measures at the Ohio Estate

Despite the clear boundary around the estate, Swift and Kelce have not caused disruption in the secluded community since moving in, according to the same outlet.

Patricia Knight Gary, a local realtor with Howard Hanna Realty, said Bratenahl already has a small police force that regularly patrols the village, while nearby condominiums have 24-hour security.

She added that there could be discussions about increasing security following the couple's arrival.

Kelce bought the Ohio property for £3.95 million ($5.35 million) in March, roughly four months before the couple's wedding.

The 21,000-square-foot lakefront mansion has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, as well as a game room and home theatre.

The property is located along Lake Erie and is another addition to the couple's portfolio of homes. Kelce's purchase has also attracted attention because of his personal connection to the region, with the NFL star having grown up in nearby Cleveland Heights.

Bratenahl's Response to the Couple

Bratenahl Mayor Keith Benjamin has said the village is accustomed to having high-profile residents and is welcoming of Swift and Kelce. The couple's arrival has attracted public interest, although they have so far maintained a relatively private presence in the community, which is described as a relatively secluded lakefront area.

The couple's move has also prompted discussion about the potential impact on the area.

Gary said residents and property sellers may hope their presence could increase property values, although she stressed that it is too early to determine what the long-term effect will be, with the area already having regular police patrols and 24-hour security at nearby condominiums.

Swift and Kelce's Property Portfolio

Leawood, Kansas, remains the couple's primary residence and a major home base while Kelce continues to play for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Swift also has homes in Nashville, Rhode Island and Beverly Hills, as well as an apartment in Tribeca.

The Ohio mansion is therefore another property for the couple rather than their main residence.

While it remains unclear how much time they will spend there, their arrival has already attracted attention in the small lakeside community.

Swift and Kelce's relationship began in 2023 and became public later that year. They announced their engagement in August 2025 before marrying on 3 July 2026 at Madison Square Garden in New York, with around 1,000 guests attending.

For now, the couple's new Bratenahl home offers them another private base away from the larger cities where Swift owns property. The warning system and existing security measures in the village have drawn attention as the couple settle into married life.
