Italian striker Pablo Osvaldo is believed to be in talks over a move to Tottenham, with reports claiming the star has flown to London with the hopes of agreeing a deal before the summer.

Osvaldo has struggled for game time in recent matches for Roma and speculation has claimed that the 27 year old is searching for move after two years at the Italian club.

Reports of arguments with teammates and management, as well as general unhappiness at the club are believed to be behind Osvaldo's desperation to move elsewhere, with Tottenham seemingly willing to give him a fresh start in a new country.

As the Italian outfit took on Lazio in the derby on Monday night, Osvaldo was nowhere to be seen, with Talksport reporting that he was instead on his way to London with his girlfriend for talks with Spurs.

Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that depending on whether his side qualify for Champions League football, the Portuguese tactician will bring in new talent in the summer.

With just Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe to rely on up front, Gareth Bale has taken the lead and has at times singlehandedly produced what was needed to keep Spurs in the fight for a top four spot.

But Bale's recent injury has exposed the weaknesses the club are facing in goal, with Tottenham losing their convincing lead over bitter rivals Arsenal in the table, who could now take fourth spot if Wenger's side win their game in hand.

Should Tottenham not make the Champions League, the club will no doubt have a harder time attracting talent in the summer transfer window.

But with Osvaldo in search of game time and a new start, and Villas-Boas in search of someone who can provide goals and experience for the club, it could be a win-win situation for the £8 million-rated hitman.
