A US couple after losing around 600 pounds together are getting married on Saturday, 13 May.

Ronnie Brower and Andrea Masella met at a fitness centre and formed a bond around losing weight.

"Our first date was at the gym playing ping-pong and basketball. We love to work out, she loves the healthy lifestyle," Brower told ABC.

"I was just really inspired by him and I thought he was super cute. We started talking at the gym and I hate to sound cliche but it was love at first sight," Masella said.

Nick Murphy, Brower's personal trainer who will also be his best man at the wedding, calls it "a match made in heaven, a storybook movie".

Talking about their future, Masella, who is a hairdresser by profession, said that she and Brower has decided to inspire and counsel each other their whole life and would maintain a healthy lifestyle.

"Both of us had used food as a coping mechanism; I would just eat my feelings. We've gone through a lot of counselling to come to terms with that and change," Masella added.

Brower who is 32 now, once weighed 675 pounds. He hit the gym after he realised that he could barely leave his parent's house. His doctor had also told him if he kept on like this he would be dead before 30. That was the turning point in his life.

After almost two years of workout, he managed to lose much of his excess weight and it was that time when he met the love of his life in 2014. At 5-foot-4, Masella had weighed 250 pounds that time and was on her mission to losing 120 pounds.

"People come to me all the time, asking for weight-loss advice. I just tell them there's hope out there. If you want it bad enough and put your mind to it, anybody can do it," Brower said.
