The Vampire Diaries Season 6 will premiere only in October but juicy spoilers about the show are already pouring in. The latest buzz is that Stefan may find it difficult to get over Damon's death.

In the finale of season 5, Mystic Fall was finally saved from Markos and the Travellers. However, the good news came with a heavy price for fans as their favourite vampire Damon died during 'Project Kaboom.'

Elena's toxic relationship with Damon finally ended with the latter's death and she was seen crying inconsolably in the finale. Meanwhile, Damon's little brother Stefan was also dealing with his brother's shocking death and season 6 could be about his life post Damon.

Fans of the popular vampire drama are well aware of Stefan's emotional side when it comes to his loved ones. Damon sacrificed his life in order to save Stefan and Elena and hence, they may find it difficult to deal with the biggest loss in his life.

In an interview with TV line, Vampire Diaries showrunner Julie Plec teased about Stefan's character and said that he will be a changed man.

"It's really a character-defining journey for Stefan and it'll change him quite a lot. At what point does he decide to give up or keep searching for answers?

"He lost something very profound, and there are a million ways he could go. He could go light, he could go dark, he could go pure, he could lose his mind and get on a motorcycle and drive to Miami."

Meanwhile, Caroline is head over heels in love with Stefan and the next season may focus on how Stefan reacts it, bustle.com reported.

It will also be interesting to see how he will deal with Elena, who is reeling with sadness.

"I think she's finally admitting it to herself, losing him woke that up in her, the question is will Stefan reciprocate those feelings," says Julie.

Although CW is yet to announce a premier date for the season 6 of the Vampire Diaries, theepochtimes.com reported that the show might come on small screen by October this year.
