The Walking Dead season 6 is headed for an epic ending. Considering what transpired in the previous episode, fans would be wondering what is going to happen ahead in the zombie infected land. It also seems to be progressing towards a "survival of the fittest" battle, which is where Robert Kirkman – the show's creator – wants to take fans.

Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) has hinted at the bleak future of his character, who apparently got shot in episode 15. "It's definitely Daryl getting shot. I won't tell you where he's getting shot. But you see [Dwight] pull the trigger, and that's Daryl's blood," he told TV Line. Speaking about how safe his character was in the series, he said: "I think every single one of us on the show knows that we can go at any time. That's the world that we're living in. That's the reality. We could all go at any time."

The finale of TWD season 6 will introduce Negan, the much-awaited, infamous and deadly villain, who kills his victims with a barb-wired baseball bat. And Reedus has claimed that the season 6 finale will be one of the brutal episodes.

"It's the most hardcore finale we've ever had. It's rough. It's the most gut-wrenching finale yet. And it's one of — if not — the best episode I've ever seen of our show. It's mind-blowing," he added.

Episode 15 of the blockbuster AMC series focussed on all major characters and explored their emotions, their fear of insecurity and their struggle to stay together to battle their enemies. The show also explored the romantic side of its characters including, Rick Grimes and Michonne, Abraham and Sasha and Maggie and Glenn.

And it seems like Carol, who has always been the strongest pillar of the group, both emotionally and physically, is planning to leave Rick and company to embark on a journey of her own. On the other hand, a heartbroken Daryl is blaming himself for Denis's death and vows to kill Dwight. But before he could plan his attack, he found company in Glenn and Michonne, who ask him to get back to the Alexandria safe zone.

But Daryl denies their request and takes Rosita along with him in his pursuit for Dwight and his men. What happened next was most shocking for fans as the former member of The Saviors, took Glenn and Rick's lady love hostage. Daryl tried to rescue them by entering their territory, but soon he realised that he too was in Dwight's trap.

The last thing fans saw was a shot fired by Dwight, while aiming at the crossbow wielding warrior and blood splattering all over. It will be interesting to see whether Daryl survives Dwight's fatal blow or not and who will be the first victim of Negan in The Walking Dead season 6 finale episode titled Last Day On Earth, which will air on 3 April on AMC network.
