Meredith and Nathan Riggs will try to figure out their relationship status ABC

Grey's Anatomy season 13 will return with episode 4 titled Falling Slowly and it appears the episode will focus on the relationship between Meredith and Nathan Riggs. The cardiothoracic surgeon is open about his feelings for Meredith but the owner of the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital is not yet clear about wanting another romantic relationship.

A promo released by ABC reveals Riggs's clear intention to woo Mer. "You and I should hang out. Together. Somewhere that isn't here, like a ... a movie?" he asks Ellen Pompeo's character. But Mer rejects his advances and tells him they are not that kind of friends.

In another short clip, the couple seem to have a heated argument where Riggs slams Meredith. "Do you think I'll play around with patients' well-being in order to get down your pants" he charges Mer.

The official synopsis of the upcoming episode reads: "Alex tries to do the right thing but still can't catch a break. Jackson and April adjust to their "new normal" with the baby. While Meredith and Nathan establish what's going on between them, Amelia questions the state of her relationship with Owen."

The medical drama from Shonda Rhimes is all set to bring back Tessa Ferrer's Dr Leah Murphy. Arizona, who is nursing a broken heart after her separation from Callie, will soon find a new love interest in Leah. "We're absolutely going to see it. I'm very excited to introduce a love interest for her, and to get to tell a story with her that lets her be who she is, and to see who she is post the relationships that she's had," Rhimes told EW while addressing the upcoming romance.

Grey's Anatomy season 13 airs on Thursdays at 8/7 pm CT on ABC.
