iZombie season 2
Liv and Clive try to solve the murder of one of the fraternity’s members CW

Liv (Rose McIver) struggled a lot to keep her half zombie/half human self a secret in the first season of iZombie. But, her truth was revealed before her near ones and sadly many of them left her. Season 2 will be more about how McIver's character deals with the rejection and pulls herself together in order to solve new cases.

In the previous season, Liv's roommate Payton left her after getting to know her secret of survival (she eats fried brains of murdered victims). "A lot of the beginning of the season is her dealing with the fall out and trying to get her life back on track with her family and those closest to her. We pick up three months later and we see how it's affected her on that journey and getting her back together," co-showrunner Diane Ruggiero-Wright told IGN.

Major too freaked out after learning that his ex-fiancee is a zombie and is in no mood to forgive her but the co-showrunner teases that the couple will indeed patch up but only after a lot of ups and downs. "There's definitely going to be some fall out or reactions from that because I'd be kind of a dick if someone did that to me. But there are going to be some ups and downs with it but I'm hopeful that there is a future for them because I like them so much together," Ruggiero-Wright added.

Meanwhile, Ravi will keep himself busy by trying to find a cure to Liv's undead existence. "He's still working on the cure which is a big thing for him. He'll have relationships, but thus far there's not a big change in him or a big change that's going to happen," the showrunner said explaining the future of Rahul Kohli's character.

The synopsis of episode one titled Grumpy Old Liv reads: "Liv consumes the brains of a cantankerous old man to help gain insight into his death. After receiving an anonymous call on the tipster hotline, Liv and Detective Babineax stop by the residence of Byron Thistlewaite, to question the mysterious caller. Meanwhile, Ravi suspects that Major might be experiencing a side effect of the cure, and Liv pays Blaine a surprise visit."
