WhatsApp for iPhone now supports quick reply to messages and calls through incoming notifications Facebook/WhatsApp

WhatsApp for iPhone now features a new ability to quickly respond to incoming calls as well as messages directly from the notification banner. This feature is available with the latest WhatsApp update for iOS 9.1 or later.

Those who are running iOS 9 or later on their device can access the quick reply feature only for VoIP calls via call notification. They cannot use this feature for responding to messages, which is exclusive to iOS 9.1 and higher.

You can respond to a VoIP call or an incoming message directly from the WhatsApp notification as follows:

  • Just pull down on the notification banner from the screen top, when the notification first shows up.
  • Alternatively, swipe the notification in the Notification Center to the left. Then tap on reply to activate the notification banner and reveal the text field below.

Using this trick, you can respond to incoming calls and messages within the context of the app you are using by hitting the Send button, reports iDownloadBlog. You can also reply from the Lock screen by swiping a WhatsApp notification from right to left to unlock the blue Reply button.Once you tap the Reply button, you will be redirected to the notification banner from where you can type in your response.

The WhatsApp for iPhone is now supported in a variety of languages including English, Arabic, Bokmål, Norwegian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
