Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman is slated to hit theatres on 2 June 2017 Warner Bros. Pictures

Gal Gadot, the 31-year-old actress who played Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, would be seen reprising her role in a standalone movie under DC's extended universe. Recently, the actress announced the news of completing filming for DC's Wonder Woman, and days later, the director of the movie Patty Jenkins shared a picture from the set, with the entire cast and Gadot, who is seen donning her superhero costume.

Jenkins took to Twitter to share the picture from the sets, captioned, "Cast and crew were truly phenomenal. Can't wait to share their work on the big screen!" The picture that features the DC superhero Wonder Woman in the centre surrounded by all her crew members marks the completion of filming, as the project goes to post-production. In a way, the expansive shot of the Wonder Woman crew also hints at the high-scale nature of the movie and also the fact that DC is raising the stakes with its upcoming Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman.

Earlier, Wonder Woman actress Gadot had posted a picture of hers on Instagram shutting the clapperboard, as they wrap up the shooting of the film. Reprising her Amazonian warrior character, the Israeli actress appeared happy to announce the completion of the female-lead superhero movie. She said, "Today was my last day shooting the solo Wonder Woman film! It's been such an amazing, exciting, dreamy, happy and fascinating experience I will cherish it forever."

Jenkins, who was reported to direct Thor: The Dark World for Marvel, chose DC's Wonder Woman instead and it turned out to be the highest-budgeted project of her career. After the solo feature, Gadot will next star as Wonder Woman in the upcoming Justice League movie, which has Ben Affleck on board as its executive producer. The solo female superhero movie Wonder Woman is set to hit theatres on 2 June 2017.
