WWE has confirmed some matches for Battleground 2016 (pay-per-view), which will be aired live from the Verizon Center in Washington DC on Sunday (24 July). The showstopper for the event is the highly anticipated triple threat match between former Shield members for the heavyweight championship belt.

The triple threat match between Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns came about after Rollins defeated Reigns, but then Ambrose cashed in the prize in Money In The Bank making him the new heavyweight champion. He will be defending his title for the first time since winning it at the event. Another featured match is the six-man tag-team match between The Wyatt Family and The New Day.

Next at SummerSlam 2016, which is scheduled for 21 August, the Viper will be squaring off against Brock Lesnar, who at UFC 200 defeated the 8th ranked heavyweight mixed martial artists Mark Hunt aka Super Samoan.
