X-Men Apocalypse
The movie is set to show a massive conflict between the impossibly powerful villain and mutants 20th Century Fox

After the massive success of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, 20th Century Fox released the synopsis of its much awaited movie X-Men: Apocalypse. The movie is set to feature one of the biggest battles ever fought among mutants. However, fans will not see Professor X taking on Magneto this time, but will witness a battle between the mutant god (Apocalypse) and Charles Xavier's students.

The movie, directed by Bryan Singer, will see Jennifer Lawrence playing the role of Raven aka Mystique. She would mentor young mutants along with Charles Xavier, as they prepare to fight their biggest battle.

Apocalypse, an immortal and impossibly powerful mutant, has awakened after thousands of years. And now, wants to destroy all of mankind and establish an empire of mutants on Earth. He forms a team of powerful mutants, including the evil Magneto, to serve his purpose.

But, his efforts will be challenged by Professor X and his team of mutants, who are set to defeat their biggest enemy yet and save humans.

Check out the official synopsis below:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Screenrant suspects, after waking up to modern day, Apocalypse realises that mutants are hiding their identity as they are being seen as a threat to the society. The god of the mutants then wants to settle scores and correct this imbalance of power. Hence, he finds a perfect partner in Magneto to destroy humans.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on 27 May 2016.
