Kseniya Alexandrova died earlier this week at the age of 30 following the results of a freak accident. The late model was best known for representing Russia in the 2017 Miss Universe pageant. Her tragic death involved a collision between an elk and the windshield of her Porsche Panamera.

Who Was Kseniya Alexandrova?

Alexandrova was born in Moscow, and speaks fluent Russian only. She started modelling at the age of 19, working with the agency Modus Vivendis ever since.

She represented Moscow in Miss Russia 2017, placing as first runner-up. During this time, she succeeded Yuliana Korolkova, who had similar results the year prior.

Both of them were first runner-ups and represented Russia at the Miss Universe competition in their respective years. Alexandrova, however, didn't place in the Top 16.

Outside of modelling, she has earned a degree in finance and credit from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in 2016. In 2022, she earned a degree in psychology at the Moscow Pedagogical State University.

Prior to her passing, she pursued a career as a psychodrama therapist and psychologist. Alexandrova shared this via her most recently pinned post on Instagram.

Her Husband Recalling The Incident

Her spouse was interviewed by Rossiyskaya Gazeta and shared his recollection of the car accident. Alexandrova and her husband, whose name has yet to be disclosed, were driving home.

The couple were coming from Rzhev via the M9 highway in Tver Oblast, when an elk appeared out of nowhere. He recounted that a split second had passed, leaving him with no time to react.

He added that she was unconscious, her head was broken, and 'everything was covered in blood'.

His wife's skull was shattered by the elk's legs, which went through the window of the lowered sports car. Her husband said that other drivers stopped to help, with emergency services arriving within 15 minutes.

His wife was then moved to the Sklifosovsky Institute for Emergency Medicine for intensive care. It was reported that she suffered severe brain injuries and spent more than a month in a deep coma.

Alexandrova's Tragic Death

She and her husband were driving in Tver Oblast in Russia on 5 July. The couple were newlyweds, having just married four months prior to the accident. Alexandrova was in the passenger seat at the time of the incident, when an elk flew through the windshield.

The initial news was that her husband survived, but his wife suffered significant head trauma. This kept her in a coma until she passed away last Friday.

On 12 August, Alexandrova's modeling agency, Modus Vivendis, announced that she had died. They shared the news of her passing in an Instagram post on 13 August.

The Miss Universe Organisation also paid their tribute to the late beauty pageant alum on 14 August. They offered the 'deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and everyone whose life was touched by the light of Miss Universe Russia 2017'.
