The battle between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) culminates in a final epic battle on Lian Yu. After recent events, Oliver decides to recruit a group of unlikely allies - Slade (guest star Manu Bennett), Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law), Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Digger Harkness (guest star Nick. E. Tarabay) - to defeat Chase. However, Chase has his own army - Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy), Evelyn Sharp (guest star Madison McLaughlin) and Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig) - and the forces collide in an explosive season finale.

Showrunner/ executive producer Wendy Mericle has teased what to expect next and revealed that fans should brace themselves for potential deaths in the finale episode.

She told EW, "The ending is going to be very personal to Oliver. It is going to be the showdown between him and Adrian Chase that we've all been waiting for. We're very excited about it because I think Josh and Stephen have just brought this amazing, cool dynamic to those two roles. Not surprisingly, Adrian is going to continue to be several steps ahead of Oliver, but I think Oliver has got his number. So the finale will be full of some pretty big surprises."

"I think Oliver's finally going to find a way to do what he's been trying to do all season and put the past behind him," she teased. When asked if there will be death in the finale, Mericle replied, "We might lose some people."

Chase's final strike will leave Oliver reeling, according to Mericle. The Arrow EP explained, "There will absolutely be fisticuffs. In surprising ways, a lot of the battle will be done in ways that we've never done on the show before, which we're very excited about. But emotionally, Chase has been trying to prove to the world and to Oliver that he is not a hero, he's a killer."

"He's going to pull out one final, big whammo at the end that is going to really leave Oliver reeling and raise a lot of questions. I think Oliver is going to come down on the right side of that question, but not without a lot of risk and a lot of potential heartache."
