A device apparently belonging to the Asus ZenFone 2 series has surfaced, and is highly expected to be launched at next year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2015) in January.

According to an Android Police report that quotes an Asus internal document submitted to the Bluetooth Special Interest group, a new smartphone tentatively termed ZC451CG is believed to be one of the successors to the popular Asus ZenFone series of devices.

However, it is not known whether the ZC451CG officially belongs to the highly rumoured Asus ZenFone 2 series of smartphones.

Nonetheless, the document has outed various technical specifications of the new device. Gauging from these it is evident that the ZC451CG, once official, will fall into the budget smartphone segment.

This smartphone incorporates a 4.5in display having resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, and runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating platform out of the box, with the Asus Zen UI on top.

A dual-core Intel Atom processor is said to drive the Asus ZC451CG, along with a 2100mAh battery.

The handset is also rumoured to feature a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front snapper. Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB connectivity is also expected to be supported.

Other specifications are yet to surface, but going by the technical aspects that have surfaced, it is clear that the smartphone with model number ZC451CG will cater to smartphone buyers stuck on a shoestring budget.

Even the official launch of Asus ZC451CG is not known at the moment, but the smartphone could be launched at CES 2015 by Asus as a surprise for people expecting both a high-end smartphone and an entry level device.
