Bad Bunny's queer-inclusive Super Bowl halftime stunt has sparked a familiar debate over his sexuality, after delivering a historic all-Spanish, pan-Latin halftime show and a high-energy, colorful, and all-around inclusive performance.

The Puerto Rican singer performed his song Yo Perreo Sola atop a pink house with a diverse group of dancers and highlights a queer couple dancing.

But Benito didn't stop there; he also shared his Super Bowl stage with gay icons such as Ricky Martin, who is openly gay, and Lady Gaga, who came out as bisexual in 2009 and has since become an ally to the community.

Many people called this move 'inclusive' and 'breaking the barrier' of traditional masculinity. Furthermore, it is the same song where Bad Bunny famously dressed in full drag in the music video.

As a result, people are going on the internet to search 'is Bad Bunny gay? So, here's the truth about the artist's sexuality.

Is Bad Bunny Gay?

Even before his inclusive Super Bowl halftime show, Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, frequently faced questions about his sexuality.

Questions about the artist's sexuality are not new, especially when you're in the spotlight and you slightly stray from the gender norms.

But Benito didn't become affected as he consistently and unapologetically embraced femininity—even dressing in drag and being unafraid to kiss a dude. But to answer the question, no, Bad Bunny is not gay, but he sees sexuality as fluid.

In 2020, he addressed the same question: 'It does not define me,' he said. 'At the end of the day, I don't know if in 20 years I will like a man. One never knows in life.'

Benito added, 'But at the moment, I am heterosexual, and I like women.'

Bad Bunny is a Certified LGBTQ+ Ally

Bad Bunny has addressed his Yo Perreo Sola music video, where he dressed in full drag. He wore a red latex and had big breasts.

He said, 'I did it to show support to those who need it. I may not be gay, but I'm a human who cares.' He also explained the decision to do drag saying he 'always felt like there [was] a part of me that is very feminine. But I never felt as masculine as I did the day I dressed up like a drag queen.'

Benito also said that he has anticipated the homophobic comments that he will receive from the music video, but believes that the positive will outweigh the negative. He said, 'I knew there were going to be comments saying, "F—-t! Gay! Bad Bunny is over".'

The singer shared that he found out about drag from his cousin who consulted him for music to use in his live shows. 'He would come to my house so I could make his mixes. He explained the choreography to me. They were all Lady Gaga songs,' he said.

Furthermore, the singer has used his platform to denounce homophobia and transphobia, honor victims of hate crimes, and publicly support LGBTQ+ rights during his acceptance speech for the GLAAD Award, a non-profit LGBTQ advocacy organization.
