FULL TIME: Liverpool 1-3 Crystal Palace

Get the feeling this isn't going to be the day Gerrard dreamed of? Zaha advances towards the box, sells Lucas a step over and is clipped by the Brazilian. Murray steps up but is denied by Mignolet, who leaps to his right to make the save. No matter, the Palace striker reacts first to tuck away the rebound.

Goal! Liverpool 1-3 Crystal Palace (Glenn Murray)

PENALTY - Crystal Palace

Palace nearly have a third! Puncheon cuts in from the right, easily jinking past Lovren and then across Skrtel before taking his shot on. It squirms away from Mignolet and Murray is on the loose ball but he is correctly ruled offside.

Moreno now comes off with Jerome Sinclair coming on for him. Two minutes of normal time left.

Dejan Lovren may need counselling after the afternoon Bolasie has given him, but he can sigh in relief now as the winger comes off to be replaced by Glenn Murray.

Moreno does well out on the left and rolls a precise ball to Gerrard on the edge of the box. Is this his moment? Nope again, the skipper connects with a downright awful side footed effort that he shanks horribly wide. I think it even went out for a throw in.

Sterling is felled by a clumsy challenge by Delaney and Liverpool have a free kick 25 yards out from goal. Is this Gerrard's moment? Nope, his effort is a poor one that sails harmlessly over the bar.

Gerrard, out on the left, slides a pass into Henderson who squirms past one man before curling one on goal, but it flies the wrong side of the post.

Bolasie hits the crossbar! The winger brilliantly pulls a long ball out of the air out on the right, squirms inside past Moreno before side stepping Skrtel and letting fly with a curling effort that has Mignolet beaten. It's a sublime individual effort, but fate isn't having it, as his shot cannons back out off the woodwork.

What a shout from Alan Pardew! Bolasie has been menacing the Liverpool backline all evening and this time when he cuts in from the right, Zaha is on the end of it to tap home 22 seconds after being bought on by his manager! The former Manchester United man looked offside so Liverpool will have fair reason to be unhappy. but it's nothing Palace don't deserve.

Goal! Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace (Wilfried Zaha, 59)

Another great chance for Palace. Chamakh cuts in from the right and slides the ball into Bolasie who plays it through to Lee just inside the box. Bolasie's pass is slightly overhit and Lee takes on a first time shot off balance which slices well wide of goal.

Palace have two shouts for a penalty. First, Bolasie's shot appears to bounce off the arm of Skrtel. Everyone but Lee appeals, but he soons joins in after he is clipped from a clumsy challenge from Skrtel again having chased up the loose ball. Palace get no joy, however, and the ref ignores both shouts.

Coutinho slices open Palace's backline with a wonderful lofted pass for Henderson who takes the ball down on his chest inside the box. His control is excellent, but he can't pull the trigger on the shot. Palace scramble it away, but only as far as Ibe who tries to find the net at the near post, but instead finds the side netting.

And we are back underway fort the second half at Anfield.

HALF TIME: Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Palace are level! Puncheon stands over the free kick and whips a left footed effort over the wall and into the right hand corner of the net! Mignolet perhaps should have done better, having positioned his wall to cover the other side of goal, but it was a wonderfully precise effort from Puncheon.

Goal! Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace (Jason Puncheon, 43)

Bolasie bursts past Can down the inside left and has his legs clipped by the Liverpool defender who was getting nowhere near him. Palace free kick on the edge of the box...

Mignolet this time denies Puncheon, dropping low to his left to palm the shot around the post. From the resulting corner, Lee Chung-yong tries a van Basten-esque volley from a tight angle but he gets it all wrong.

Another chance for Palace! Puncheon drives through the middle brilliantly, luring three Liverpool players in before slipping a pass out to Bolasie to his right. Inside the box, he has enough time to pull the trigger on the shot but slices a poor effort over the bar.

Palace waste a wonderful chance to pull level! Bolasie, over on the right this time, skips past Moreno in acres of space and drills a cross into the six yard area. Chamakh does well to hold off his marker and usher the ball into the path of Ledley who is racing into the box, but the Wales midfielder can only hammer a woeful effort over the bar.

Liverpool take the lead! It;s been all Palace for the last 10 minutes but a horrible pass across his goal from former Red Martin Kelly allows Lallana to break through with the goal at his mercy. He still has a lot to do but finds a wonderful finish, clipping the ball across Hennessey and into the back of the net.

Goal! Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace (Adam Lallana, 25)

Palace waste the corner, but they are soon on the attack again with Bolasie this time cutting in from the left and letting fly with a shot on goal that almost deceives Mignolet after taking a deflection off Dann. Palace corner.

More neat build up play from Palace involving Puncheon and Chamakh (!) on the edge of the box, with the latter backheeling (!!) a ball into the path of Ward on the edge of the box. He takes a moment to line up his cross but proceeds to hammer a ball across goal into no one in particular and the chance goes.

Henderson almost bursts in on goal from a tight angle out on the right but former Red Martin Skrtel marshalls him well and forces the ball out for a corner.

It's been an even start to this game but Puncheon suddenly comes alive, embarking on a brilliant run from right to left before slipping a ball out to the onrushing Soare. He digs out a cross, but he floats it too close to Mignolet who can claim.

Bolasie steps up a gear down the left but is never really fully in control of the ball and Skrtel can get across him to usher the ball back to Mignolet.

Not much happening in these early minutes. Henderson wins the ball in midfield and slips a ball through for Coutinho down the inside left channel. He wins the corner, but it fails to trouble Palace.

And after one of the loudest renditions of "You'll Never Walk Alone" you'll ever here in honour of Gerrard, we are off and underway at Anfield.

Just the two changes for Liverpool then as Jordon Ibe and Alberto Moreno come in for Glen Johnson and Rickie Lambert. Brendan Rodgers again opts for Jerome Sinclair as his attacking option off the bench ahead of both Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini.

Maroaune Chamakh has barely got a look in under Alan Pardew's reign in south east London but he will have the chance to prove himself this evening. Mile Jedinak is left out again.

BREAKING: Jason Puncheon returns to Alan Pardew's starting XI while there is also room up top for Marouane Chamakh. Wilfried Zaha starts on the bench.

Palace team to face Liverpool: Hennessey; Ward, Dann (C), Kelly, Souare; McArthur, Ledley, Puncheon; Lee, Bolasie; Chamakh.

Subs: Speroni, Delaney, Jedinak, Mutch, Zaha, Campbell, Murray.

BREAKING: Steven Gerrard starts in his final game at Anfield. Obviously. Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren continue at the heart of defence but Mamadou Sakho misses out.

Liverpool team to face Crystal Palace: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno, Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Ibe, Sterling

Subs: Ward, Johnson, Toure, Lambert, Lucas, Allen, Sinclair

Crystal Palace news: Jason Puncheon was left on the bench against Manchester United last week but came off the bench to score a wonderful free kick as Palace fought toe to toe with Louis van Gaal's side. Since then, he has been awarded with a new contract. All signs suggest he will reclaim a starting role this evening.

Liverpool news: Starting appearances for Steven Gerrard have been far from a guarantee this season, but he will be greeted out onto the pitch by a guard of honour this evening. Mamadou Sakho is also set to feature having recovered from a hamstring problem that sidelined him for five weeks. Liverpool have no other injury concerns for their final home game of the season.

Game 709 for Steven Gerrard will be his last in front of an Anfield crowd. The iconic captain will leave the club at the end of the season to join LA Galaxy in the MLS, and with an away fixture at Stoke City on the final day of the season likely to lack universal sentiment, today will mark the skipper's final farewell in front of his own fans.
