Samsung's flagship Galaxy S5 that seemingly failed to live up to expectations, could witness a successor in the form of a Galaxy S6 to be unveiled at January's CES 2015, if the rumour buzz around Project Zero is to be believed.

According to a G4Games report that quotes a Korean analyst, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S6 along with another high-ender variant likely to be called Galaxy S6 Edge, at CES 2015.

The Korean analyst stated that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will incorporate a dual-edged curved display,an evolution of the single-edge curve introduced with the Note 4 Edge smartphone.

The analyst said that around 45 million Galaxy S6 smartphones are predicted to be shipped next year, with Galaxy S6 Edge accounting for nearly 10 million units.

Being a high-ender, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumoured to incorporate the following technical specifications:

  • 5.5in Quad HD display (1440 x 2560).
  • Exynos 7420 octa-core 64-bit processor (four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex A-57 cores).
  • 3GB RAM.
  • 32 GB internal storage.
  • 20MP rear camera (IMX240 sensor); 5MP front camera.
  • "Half-metal" outer frame.

Samsung is yet to issue an official confirmation about the Galaxy S6 smartphone and its Edge variant.
