Michael Le Vell has reportedly been offered a spot on the 2013 I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! lineup.

Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell is reportedly preparing to make his reality TV debut on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in the wake of his acquittal over child sex charges.

The 48-year-old soap star, who was found not guilty of a string of child sex offences including rape and sexual assault, was allegedly approached by ITV producers to join the line-up for the new series.

According to the Sun, show bosses were reportedly so keen to send the actor to the Australian outback that they have offered him a six-figure deal.

Le Vell is likely to use the money from his appearance to pay his legal fees for the court case.

Helen Flanagan - who played his onscreen daughter Rosie on Corrie, and also appeared on I'm A Celebrity in 2012 - said that going into the outback would be good for him.

"He'd be hilarious," she told Daybreak. "That would actually be good for him because people could see what a lovely guy he is."

Le Vell, who plays the part of Kevin Webster in the popular ITV soap, was charged under his real name of Michael Turner. He faced 12 charges of sexual offences with a minor. She cannot be named for legal reasons.

It has been reported that he will be eased back into the soap quietly from February.
