Police have launched a murder investigation after a teenager was killed at a nightclub in Coventry.

Emergency services were called to the Society nightclub in Tower Street, in the early hours of 15 March following reports of a disturbance inside the venue.

An 18-year-old man from Coventry was found fatally injured outside the club and later pronounced dead in hospital.

Another 18-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries.

A 17-year-old male was also hurt, but his injuries are thought to be less serious.

The victim who was killed during the suspected fight at the venue has not yet been named.

Tower Street was expected to remain closed for the rest of the day while forensic investigations take place.

West Midlands Police is appealing for anyone who was in Society nightclub last night and who witnessed the disorder to contact detectives in the Homicide Team at Harborne police station on the 101 number. Or they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
