Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.'s Blunt Reply to Lamine Yamal Comparison with His Father Sparks Online Debate
Ronaldo Jr. Says Yamal 'Hasn't Won Anything Yet'

Cristiano Ronaldo's son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., unwittingly sparked a debate online with his strong response to a comparison between his father and FC Barcelona young star, Lamine Yamal.
The 14-year-old was with streamer 2xRakai, who was doing a livestream and said to the younger Ronaldo that the FC Barcelona star was better than his father. His response: 'Right now? Yes', seemingly agreeing but then he followed it up with, 'but Lamine hasn't won anything yet', surprising not only his companions, but also those who were watching the live broadcast.
While some viewers sided with CR7's son's comment, others came to Yamal's defence.
The Debate Starts
One viewer said, 'Literally, they have won the same Spanish leagues haha'. Another responded, 'He has the same number of Euro Cups, one fewer league title, and the same number of goals in World Cup knockout stages as Cristiano'.

Another commenter stated, 'When Cristiano won his first and only Eurocup, he was marketed as "the best player in history" for achieving that, even though he didn't even play in the final ... Well, Lamine did it at 16 years old, playing in the final at 17 and having at least 1 G/A in all phases'.
Others also came to CR7's defence, 'There's no way to compare a career that's just beginning vs. one that's nearing its end, with everything that CR7 represents, also in his disciplined lifestyle, unlike Yamal, who looks like a prospect to become a Neymar 2.0'.
Another said, 'All the [expletive] kids these days ... I clearly remember growing up watching 90s and 2000s football, and for me, seeing Ronaldinho, the Phenomenon, Zidane, Henry, Bergkamp, Batigol, Rooney, Zlatan, Romario, Hugo Sanchez, didn't stop me from knowing there were better ones, Pelé, Maradona, etc'.
CR7 On A League Of His Own, Yamal Wins UEFA Euro 2024
Young as Ronaldo Jr. is, he turned 14 last month, it is understandable that he unwittingly dissed on both his father and Yamal — saying yes to Yamal being better than his father and then doing a double take by questioning Yamal's achievements.
While it might be premature to compare a rising star to someone whose exploits in football are the stuff of legends, this will not be the first time, but rather a start of those comparisons with Yamal making an impact among the younger generation.
Ronaldo is on a league of his own — five Ballon d'Ors to his name, multiple Champions League trophies, helping Portugal clinch international titles and having numerous goal-scoring records.
As or Yamal, it is not true that he hasn't won anything yet as he already has a silverware to his name when he played a major role in Spain winning the UEFA Euro 2024.
Ronaldo might be on the verge of appearing in his sixth World Cup should he be lined up, which no other football player has ever done, he has yet to lead Portugal to a FIFA World Cup title.
As young as he is, and with the future before him, the UEFA Euro 2024 might just be a warm up for Yamal in preparation for the World Cup stage.
