An elderly pensioner was reportedly attacked with scissors on Saturday, 14 March, outside a private property on The Chase in Chatham by a 25-year-old man identified as Orlando Foster. The unnamed woman, believed to be in her 80s, was rushed to a London hospital for treatment.

In an official report from Kent Police, the woman suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds. It was, however, added by authorities that the injuries she had were not life-threatening.

Also hurt in the incident was a man who was allegedly assaulted by the 25-year-old suspect. Details on the injuries that the male victim sustained were not revealed by authorities.

Motive Remains Unknown

Kent Police said that the two victims had no relation to Foster. The British national, who reportedly is from Jeffery Street, Gillingham, was located and arrested by police roughly 24 minutes after the incident was reported.

Foster is currently remanded to police custody and is set to appear before the Medway Magistrates' Court on Monday, 16 March. He is being charged with wounding with intent, causing actual bodily harm and making threats with a bladed weapon.

Because of the disturbance caused by Foster, police have increased patrols around the area. An investigation into the matter is ongoing although the assault is believed to be an isolated incident, The Mirror reported.

Worrying Slew of Stabbing Incidents

The scissors attack involving the elderly pensioner is the second stabbing incident around Chatham in a span of three days. Last Thursday, 12 March, police were also called to Steven Close in Chatham, responding to reports that a man had been injured.

The man, whose identity has yet to be revealed, was allegedly stabbed and dealt with serious injuries. The South East Coast Ambulance Service attended to the victim, who was brought to the hospital for treatment. According to BBC News, the male victim is in stable condition.

'Officers attended alongside colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, who treated the man before conveying him to a local hospital. He remains in a serious but stable condition,' Kent Police said in an official statement.

The only information shared by the police concerning that stabbing incident was where the crime took place. A private property near Gordon Road was allegedly where the attack happened. Forensics are now processing the location to gather more evidence related to the crime.

'Detectives have launched an investigation following a serious assault in Chatham and are appealing for witnesses to come forward,' police added.

Kent Police also made an appeal to the public who may have relevant information about the incident.
