Emily in Paris
Emily in Paris has been renewed for a 6th season Netflix

After yet another successful season, fans of Emily in Paris can celebrate as the hit romantic comedy has officially been renewed for a sixth season, promising more business drama, fashion moments, travel escapades and complicated love stories.

The globally popular series will continue its journey following confirmation that production is moving forward. The news reassures viewers that Emily's story is far from over.

The confirmation was shared on Instagram last month by both Netflix and star Lily Collins, sparking excitement online. While details remain limited, early updates offer a glimpse into what could be next.

Season 5 Success Sets the Stage for What's Next

The announcement follows a strong performance in Season 5. According to Netflix, the last season set in Italy drew 26.8 million views in just 11 days and reached number one on Netflix in 24 countries.

The season followed Emily's adventures after moving to Rome to lead Agence Grateau's new office while beginning a romance with fashion heir Marcello Muratori. Scenes filmed in Rome and Venice enchanted audiences, sparking excitement and curiosity. They offered a slower, more romantic contrast to her hectic Parisian life.

The series creator Darren Star hinted at future possibilities during a press conference in December, saying: 'There's a lot of places I'd love to visit. But I think the show organically [follows] the storyline.'

He added: 'The show is Emily in Paris. It's never going to permanently leave its home base. But if I can take the audience on a journey somewhere else, I would love that ... [It's] fun to think about.'

Throughout the previous season, Emily found herself torn between her new life in Italy and her roots in France, setting up emotional and professional dilemmas that could shape the next chapter.

What Happened Last Season — and Where the Story Could Go

Season 5 left several storylines unresolved, leaving fans with plenty to look forward to in Season 6. Emily was offered the chance to join the Muratori family business but declined, missing her busy career and life in Paris.

Meanwhile, Mindy became engaged to Nicolas de Léon, though Alfie emerged to warn her the engagement was a 'big mistake'. Emily and Marcello's relationship ended for a second time, reopening the door for Gabriel, who made a move after learning about the split and invited Emily to join him on a yacht trip around Greece.

The release of the next season is eagerly awaited. With so many romantic and career questions still hanging, the next season is expected to explore whether Emily returns fully to Paris, continues her life in Italy or embarks on a completely new adventure.

Release Window, Cast and What We Don't Know Yet

While an exact premiere date has not been announced, Netflix has confirmed that the release date for Emily in Paris will be announced sometime in 2026. The upcoming season is expected to see the main cast reprise their roles, including Lily Collins as Emily, Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie and Ashley Park as Mindy.

As of now, no official trailer has been released, and plot details remain under wraps. However, given the show's track record, viewers can likely expect more glamorous locations, career moves and romantic twists.
