The season followed Emily's adventures after moving to Rome to lead Agence Grateau's new office while beginning a romance with fashion heir Marcello Muratori. Scenes filmed in Rome and Venice enchanted audiences, sparking excitement and curiosity. They offered a slower, more romantic contrast to her hectic Parisian life.

The series creator Darren Star hinted at future possibilities during a press conference in December, saying: 'There's a lot of places I'd love to visit. But I think the show organically [follows] the storyline.'

He added: 'The show is Emily in Paris. It's never going to permanently leave its home base. But if I can take the audience on a journey somewhere else, I would love that ... [It's] fun to think about.'

Throughout the previous season, Emily found herself torn between her new life in Italy and her roots in France, setting up emotional and professional dilemmas that could shape the next chapter.
