A former MP who brawled with teenagers near the Houses of Parliament has been convicted of the fracas.

Eric Joyce, 54, wrestled with two boys aged 14 and 15 in a shop, in October 2014, after one of them attempted to pass him in an aisle.

The former soldier and MP for the Scottish seat of Falkirk shoved over one of the teenagers and winded the other by elbowing him.

One of teenagers was held by the neck by Joyce who told the stunned shopkeeper to call police. The young pair fled the premises before officers arrived.

At Westminster Magistrates' Court, Joyce was convicted of common assault. He had denied the charges.

Joyce has a history of scrapping, following an incident in a House of Commons bar during which a Conservative MP was head-butted in 2012.
