Fact Check: Is Nicki Minaj Now Homeless? Reports Online Are Saying Judge Authorised Resale of Her Mansion
How unpaid legal fees, a looming deadline and last-minute settlement fuelled false reports about Nicki Minaj losing her home

Reports spread rapidly across X, TikTok and other platforms claiming that Nicki Minaj had lost her home and was left without a place to live after a court order. These posts alleged that a judge had approved the forced sale of her multi-million-pound property.
To put things into perspective, the situation originally started with a legal dispute involving former employee Thomas Weidenmüller, who worked as a security guard for Minaj. Weidenmüller filed a lawsuit in 2022, alleging that Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, assaulted him backstage during one of her shows in Germany in March 2019. In 2024, Judge Cindy Pánuco ruled against Minaj in a default judgment after she and Petty did not respond to the lawsuit.
The court ordered Minaj to pay $503,318.02, which converts to approximately £372,000, an amount which remained unpaid for an extended period. This delay became the foundation for later reports suggesting she could lose her home.
The Mansion At Risk
Minaj owns an eight-bedroom mansion in Hidden Hills, California, valued at roughly £14.8 million (approximately $20 million). In November 2025, Judge Pánuco confirmed she was considering ordering the sale of the property if the judgment remained unpaid. The purpose of such a sale would have been to fund the court-awarded payment to Weidenmüller.
Court documents reviewed by multiple outlets showed that the judge was scheduled to make a final ruling unless payment was made by the deadline. This led to headlines suggesting Minaj was on the verge of losing her home entirely, which did not account for the fact that the measure was conditional and had not yet been enforced.
Statements From Weidenmüller's Lawyer
Weidenmüller's attorney, Paul A. Saso, addressed the situation in legal filings. He said Minaj's failure to pay marked what he described as a costly level of stubbornness following the court's ruling. In one filing, he stated, 'Although it is regrettable that the extraordinary measure of forcing the sale of Minaj's dwelling is required, that result is entirely the product of her intransigence in not making payment.'
Saso also noted Minaj's financial standing, stating that she was estimated to have a net worth between $150 million and $190 million, or roughly £111 million to £140 million. He argued that she was capable of paying the judgment and had declined to do so despite repeated requests. These statements were used to justify the request for court approval to sell the property if payment continued to be withheld.
What Happened Next
On the day of the scheduled hearing, new information emerged. According to Saso, the judgment had been satisfied before the hearing concluded. He told the court that a settlement had been reached at the last minute, apologising for the late notice.

The hearing ended without an order forcing the sale of Minaj's home. Saso later confirmed that an agreement had been reached with Minaj's legal team, though it remains unclear whether the full amount was paid outright or resolved through a settlement structure. He acknowledged that, had the payment not been made, the judge's tentative ruling would have required the sale of the mansion.
