Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are reportedly expecting their first child together Tumblr

Congratulations are in order for Janet Jackson who is reportedly pregnant with her first child. While the singer has not made an official statement confirming the reports, according to Entertainment Tonight a source close to the singer shared the news of her impending arrival.

Jackson who will turn 50 on May 16, recently postponed her Unbreakable World tour as she announced that she and husband Wissam Al Mana were planning to start a family.

In a video message to her fans she said: "We're in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change,' she told her fans via a video posted to Twitter on April 6. I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour.

"Please, if you could try and understand that it's important that I do this now,' Jackson asked of her fans. I have to rest up, doctor's orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can."

Jackson previously postponed US dates on the tour after being advised to have surgery and rescheduled them for July and August. She turned to Twitter to deny misleading reports about her health following speculation that she was diagnosed with throat cancer.

Jackson, wed Qatari business magnate Wissam Al Mana in a private ceremony in 2012. The billionaire manages 55 companies – a Middle Eastern empire that spans fashion, media, engineering and real estate.

The news that the Burn It Up singer has a new arrival on the way was met with messages of congratulations from her fans on social media, however some expressed surprise that she is about to become a mother at the age of 50. And while the singer recently announced that the North American leg of the tour will be rescheduled for 2017, others questioned, rather selfishly, whether the tour would ever happen now that the singer is in the family way.
