Halle Berry's Daughter Tells Court That Olivier Martinez Is Merely on a 'Quest to Destroy' Her Mum
Nahla Aubry described Berry as a devoted parent and rejected claims made by Martinez in a declaration filed with a Los Angeles court

Halle Berry has been embroiled in a heated custody dispute with Olivier Martinez over her 13-year-old son, Maceo. However, her daughter, Nahla Aubry, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, has got her mother's back in the midst of new allegations.
In a declaration filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Nahla disputed Martinez's claims that Berry had been abusive towards their son.
The 18-year-old, who had lived with Maceo for years, described her mother as a devoted parent and said the allegations were completely inconsistent with the relationship she observed between Berry and her youngest child.
Halle Berry's Daughter Confident That Her Mom Never Abused Her Half-Brother
Nahla's declaration, as reviewed by the Daily Mail, directly contradicted the image that Martinez constructed of Berry.
The teenager revealed she had never witnessed her mother behave violently towards anyone, and specifically denied seeing her abuse Maceo in any way, shape or form.
'I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way,' Nahla said. She also maintained that she had never seen Berry throw anything at anyone, including 'a knife, or plate, or any other object.'
Nahla painted a completely different picture of the relationship between her mother and her brother. She said she had repeatedly seen them 'playfully wrestle, tickle each other, and roll around laughing on the floor or on a bed many times.'
She further explained that she had never seen 'in any conduct remotely resembling the allegations that have been made against her.' Berry had also denied Martinez's claims.
Nahla also focused on the day-to-day interactions she witnessed between Berry and Maceo rather than simply addressing the specific allegations.
She described the actress as 'a loving and devoted parent' who could be strict when necessary and expected her children to follow the rules and show respect. She described Berry as 'warm, supportive, and deeply involved in our lives' despite a demanding career.
She recalled that Berry had always made time for her and that she had done the same for her brother as well.
'She attended his games, drove him to practices and tournaments, and advocated for his education and access to medical treatment and therapy,' she said.
Nahla added, 'She celebrates our successes, supports us through challenges, and is always there when we need her.' She also revealed that Berry encouraged her children to have loving relationships with her fathers and that she did not speak negatively about Gabriel or Martinez.
Halle Berry's Daughter Was 'Very Upset' Upon Learning the Allegations Against Her Mother
Nahla explained that she was 'shocked, very sad, and very upset' when she learned about Martinez's allegations against Berry.
When comparing the abuse allegations put forth by Martinez and her experience living with both Maceo and Berry, she maintained that the accusations did not match what she knew about her mother.
She also worried about Maceo himself, saying that she was 'heartbroken' for him, stressing that he had become part of a public dispute he might not fully understand.
Nahla then turned her frustration towards Martinez, saying that he had not considered the impact of the legal battle on her as well.
'I am also angry that Olivier did not respect or care about me enough to subject me to headlines about my mom. I feel like I am an afterthought for Olivier in his quest to destroy my mom,' she said.
Berry Seeks To Restore Previous Custody Agreement Between Her and Martinez
Before Nahla's court declaration, Halle Berry had asked a Los Angeles court to reinstate the 50/50 custody arrangement that she and Martinez agreed to in August 2023 for their son, Maceo.
This came after Martinez had obtained a temporary domestic violence restraining order against Berry, alleging that Berry physically abused Maceo during an incident on 26 September. Berry denied the allegations and disputed his account of what happened.
In her filing, Berry alleged that Maceo sometimes returned from Martinez's custody 'angry and combative', taking two or three days to adjust before returning to his father. She also accused Martinez of involving Maceo in private disagreements and coercing him to take his side.
Martinez then filed a response motioning to deny her request. Their next hearing is scheduled for 16 October.
