Terrifying footage has emerged of a bus passenger grappling with an alleged knifeman on a bus in north-east London. The video, filmed by a fellow passenger, sees the two men wrestling with each other while one attempts to grab a 12-inch knife off the other.

Following the quick confrontation, the suspect flees the bus and run offs down the road in Stoke Newington.

The man who confronted the person with the knife gets off the bus and shouts towards the suspect: "I am an African. You will never take my life".

It is unclear what how the incident on board the 149 on the afternoon of 11 April started.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to Stoke Newington Road junction with Foulden Road, N16, at 1.55pm on Tuesday, 11 April, to reports of a stabbing which had occurred on a bus.

"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his 20s with minor lacerations to his hand and head.

"He was taken to an East London hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He has now been discharged."
