Jurassic World Rebirth Credits Scene Explained: 'Ending' A Major Shift In The Dinosaur Franchise
Jurassic World Rebirth ends without a post-credits teaser—but its final moments signal a dramatic shift for the franchise

Jurassic World Rebirth hit theatres this week on 2 July 2025 as the seventh entry in the series. However, audiences had to ask one big question, where is the post-credits scene?
Here's what we know about what happened after the film's ending and its implications for the franchise moving forward. In addition, we'll be keeping the article spoiler-free for readers who haven't gotten to viewing the franchise's latest installment.
Absence of Post-Credits Scene
Despite the precedent for the franchise, Rebirth does not include a post-credit scene. Whatever you get after the final shot of the film, well, that's it. A report from SYFY and ComicBook.com confirmed that credits rolled with no additional footage.
There aren't any mid-credits teasers or anything after either. This means moviegoers can leave the theatre once the music starts. Feel free to race to the bathroom as soon as the music rolls.
Does This Mean There's No Sequel?
The film takes fans of the franchise on a journey through an updated look of the Jurassic World universe. That being said, the film is given a lot of freedom with what to do next given its ending.
While we're not spoiling anything, we can say that it was directed to work as a standalone story. It leaves viewers with a storyline and characters that could definitely be seen again. However, it could also be as easily scrapped for a new arc and cast with the same narrative framework.
Universal Pictures is still waiting to see how the film performs over the weekend at the time of writing. Plans for another sequel, installment, or development timeline have yet to be unpacked.
Franchise Context: A Return to Darker Roots
The film draws on the original work done by Michael Crichton, notably his tone and pacing. Koepp consciously echoed these in the form of scenes and monologues from previous novels. This helped re-anchor this film installment closer to the franchise's roots.
The ending of Jurassic World Rebirth comes with a deliberate tone that sets it apart. It brings viewers narrative closure, leaning into the franchise's darker scientific themes. While it could be a one-off, seeds are also planted for a future surviving the chaos from the dinosaurs.
Whether this will result in a complete reset or an extended universe, it has a goal of keeping audiences curious. Ideally, this should be the expected result even long after the credits have rolled.
About Jurassic World Rebirth
Jurassic World Rebirth is set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion. During this period, the planet's ecology is 'largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.' Those remaining exist in isolated environments with favorable climates.
Three colossal creatures across land, sea, and air within the same biosphere have the DNA to bring life-saving benefits to humankind. To secure this, an extraction team is set to race to the island research facility for the original Jurassic Park. However, it's inhabited by the worst of the worst that were left behind.
The cast includes action superstar Scarlett Johansson, Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey, and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali. Joining them will be international star Ruper Friend and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
In addition, the film is going to be directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The script was written by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp.
Jurassic World Rebirth is now in theatres.
