Black Sabbath has announced their final show, seen as a historic milestone for heavy metal pioneers. The stage is set for Back to the Beginning, a one-off charity concert that will see the band's reunion.

This will be the first time that the original line-up has gotten together in 20 years. It's also the final performance of the band's frontman Ozzy Osbourne. Here's everything you need to know about the show, including the date, venue, ticketing, and more.

Event Background

As mentioned, the event holds significance as the stage for Ozzy Osbourne's final performance. It has been 20 years since the original line-up of Black Sabbath played together.

In a conversation with BBC, Sharon Osbourne told them that Birmingham was the home of metal. The band's members—Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Ward, Geezer Butler, and Tony Iommi all grew up here.

Given their contributions to the genre relative to the city's cultural heritage, they were awarded the Freedom of Birmingham. In addition, the line-up for the event will be featuring other metal icons.

Osbourne is slated to perform in his own short set prior to joining the band. The profits from the show are also going to be split for a good cause. Proceeds will be going to Acorn Children's Hospice, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Cure Parkinson's.

For context, Osbourne's Parkinson's diagnosis has been a driving force in his life. It has prevented him from touring due to disease and spinal injuries.

Osbourne addressed the concert via an Instagram post. 'It's my time to go Back to the Beginning...time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.'

The event will also see other guests, which include names like Gojira, Halestorm, Metallica, Pantera, and Slayer. Notably though, an official set list has yet to be announced.

It will be an all-day event with dozens of musicians set to take the stage. Other names dropped for the concert are Anthrax and Mastodon, Billy Korgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan and Slash, and Tool Lamb of God.

Date & Venue

The concert will be held in Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham on Saturday, 5 July. This is the band's hometown and is seen as the birthplace of heavy metal.

This is Black Sabbath's first performance since their 'The End' tour finale held in Genting Arena in February 2017. The show will run from 12:00pm to 10:30pm BST, local curfew time.

Where to Buy Tickets

Unfortunately, the show sold out in record time. Over 60,000 fans were in the queue 16 minutes after the general sale opened.

Tickets went on sale via Live Nation UK and Ticketmaster UK at 10:00 AM GMT earlier in February 2025. Prices ranged from £197.50 to £834, excluding booking fees.

Fortunately, Black Sabbath announced that the event can be livestreamed. It would also be available to watch on-demand for 48 hours after the show.

Of course, fans of the band need to pay for viewing, and only those who have paid can watch on-demand straight after. The stream will begin at 15:00 BST on 5 July, 2025.
