Hundreds of residents lined the streets of Cambridge as Kate Middleton and Prince William toured the city on 28 November. It was William and Kate's first official joint visit to Cambridge since their wedding, or since they were made the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate Middleton took Cambridge in style, in her new flicked hairdo and an ivory pink-coloured coat dress by MaxMara. The Duchess looked as chic as ever, handling the city's chilly weather with ease. And even as the winds blew her blow-dried fringes and curled locks apart, Kate carried herself smartly in a belted dress, which she wore over brown stockings and a pair of suede Aquatalia boots.

Throughout their visit, Prince William and Catherine were all smiles and delighted to be back in Cambridge, according to statements from Clarence House.

"We both feel immense pride at being associated with Cambridge, a place renowned the world over for its dynamism, beauty and learning, and it is lovely for us to be here together today," Prince William said.

William and Kate visited Cambridge University, where they attended a marquee reception inside the university's Senate House.

During the reception, Her Royal Highness chatted with students and revealed she was a fan of the BBC quiz show University Challenge.

"I love watching University Challenge," Kate told the students, asking them, "Are the colleges competitive? Do you take part in University Challenge?"

Meanwhile, students described Kate as "lovely" and "extremely good at asking questions".

The royal couple further visited Manor School, where they interacted with school children, followed by a visit to City Hospital in Peterborough. At the hospital Kate met, spoke with and cheered patients aged between seven and 96.

Official visits apart, the Duchess of Cambridge also met her uncle in Cambridge.
