Kelly Osbourne has revealed that she has permanently cut ties with her older sister, Aimee Osbourne, saying she does not believe the sisters will reconcile. The candid admission offers a rare insight into a family rift that has existed for years, despite the Osbourne siblings occasionally appearing together publicly.

Speaking on the We Need To Talk podcast on Tuesday, 15 September, Kelly said she and Aimee have never had the close sisterly relationship she wanted. She described them as 'polar opposites' and said she no longer sees a reason to maintain the relationship.

Why Kelly Osbourne Says She Cut Ties With Aimee

Kelly said her relationship with Aimee had left her feeling as though she never received the support normally expected from an older sister. She also suggested that Aimee's decision to distance herself from the rest of the family had affected how their relationship developed.

'If I'm honest, my older sister didn't really ever acknowledge me and my brother [Jack Osbourne],' the Osbournes alum said on the podcast. Kelly said Aimee appeared to be focused on her own life and largely disconnected from her siblings.

She admitted that she 'feel as though she was embarrassed of us'. When asked whether she believed Aimee was embarrassed by the entire family, including Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly said she could never know for certain, adding, 'I'll never really truly understand. It just felt that way.'

Kelly said their personalities are fundamentally different and that she has accepted they may never be able to understand one another. She even likened them to 'oil and water'.

Kelly also made clear that she does not expect the estrangement to be reversed, saying she respects Aimee but does not want a relationship in which she feels judged or unsupported.

Kelly and Aimee Osbourne Have Addressed Their Rift Before

The latest comments are not the first time Kelly has spoken publicly about her distant relationship with Aimee. In 2021, Kelly told Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert podcast that the sisters did not speak and similarly attributed the breakdown to their differences.

Aimee has also previously acknowledged that she and her younger siblings are not particularly close. In 2015, she described the relationship as one of acceptance rather than regular social contact, making clear that the siblings did not spend much time together.

The longstanding distance was also acknowledged by Jack, who said in 2025 that he and Aimee were 'not close at all'. Aimee has nevertheless remained connected to the wider family, including through public appearances following their father Ozzy Osbourne's death in July 2025.

Why Aimee Osbourne Chose Privacy Over the Osbournes

Aimee's distance from her siblings has also coincided with a very different approach to fame. Unlike Kelly and Jack, she refused to appear on MTV's The Osbournes, which documented the family from 2002 to 2005.

Aimee left the family home at 16 rather than participate in filming. Sharon Osbourne later said Aimee 'didn't want to grow up on camera' and admitted that she regretted her daughter leaving home so young.

Aimee has previously explained that appearing on the programme did not fit with how she wanted to build her life and career. She also expressed concern about having her private life exposed, particularly while she was still trying to establish her own identity away from her famous parents.

That distinction has remained a notable difference between the sisters. Kelly has now said she does not expect their relationship to be reconciled.
